Deirdra McAfee’s prizewinning stories have been widely published, appearing in The Georgia Review, Willow Springs, Confrontation, and The Diagram, among others, and anthologized in Sex & Chocolate (Paycock Press) and Diagram.2 (del Sol Press). As an editor and contributor to Lock & Load: Armed Fiction (https://www.unmpress.com/9780826359087/lock-and-load/), an anthology of distinguished American stories with guns in them, Deirdra pitched and sold the idea to the distinguished University of New Mexico Press, helped her co-editor gather the stories, handled rights and permissions, and managed social media for the book tour.
